A cleaner energy grid is a big step in a better climate future, and we applaud President Biden and the EPA for taking this measure.

A cleaner energy grid is a big step in a better climate future, and we applaud President Biden and the EPA for taking this measure. This proposal is long overdue and we appreciate the administration’s continued action on climate change to bring the US inline with the aims of the Paris Climate Agreement. The administration is showing it recognizes climate change as the existential threat that it is with this science-based standard.

However, this is only the start of what we can do to protect our future from the ravages of increasing climate change. From wildfires in the west, to historic flooding and storms in the midwest and east, we have already begun to see the impacts of increasingly extreme weather events due to the climate crisis. 

As young adults, we’re the ones that will have to rebuild and repair our communities after these natural disasters. This is why it is critical that our voices are heard–we need the strongest and best possible measures implemented, so that the global climate crisis is not our inevitable future.
