MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD BY VOTING! EVERY VOTE MATTERS!

ARE YOU READY TO VOTE?!

Did you know you can vote where you live, even if on or near campus?

  • • If you are not yet currently 18 but will be prior to November 5th, 2024, make sure you use the resources below to find out how you can register to vote and locate your polling place!

Pre-registering (for people under 18) to vote by state

  • • Use this Voter Friendly Campus Guide.

    • Visit Campus Vote Project for voting information for students, including state-specific how-to-vote guides.

  • • Before we move on, did you make sure you’re prepared to vote on November 5th through the links above?

    • Personal invitations and encouraging participation in voting pledges (see the pledge tool above to share) are some of the most effective ways to increase voter turnout among your peers!

    • Choose three of your friends and check in with them to see if they are ready for Election Day. Ask them to walk you through their voting plans. Then, ask them to share this information with three of their friends!

    • If you are still feeling unsure about the voting process, ask your family members about their experiences voting, their motivations for being someone who votes, and–if you are in the same household–how the process at your local polling place works

Remember that you do not have to fill out the whole ballot when you vote if you or your friends are undecided or uncomfortable choosing candidates in certain races. All levels of government have different roles and can affect the outcomes of different issues.

  • Younger people are less likely to vote than older people. Lack of voting resources may be a cause, but so are coordinated voter suppression efforts, difficulty finding time to vote, confusion around college residency, and lack of social pressure. You can make voting a social activity. Check with 3 of your friends to see if they have a voting plan, share this page with them, and plan to go vote together. Change the Chamber*Lobby for Climate is a nonpartisan organization that is concerned with ongoing coordinated attacks on voting rights. We believe that the most effective method to combat this and encourage an equitable, climate-resilient society is to educate others on ways that everyone can be heard in the civic engagement process.
